Task force planned for Dona Ana County

A multi-agency operation is being planned to deal with criminal and gang activity in Dona Ana County, sheriff's officials said.

Details on the operation or when it will take place were not released but the effort will include New Mexico state police, federal agencies and police in Las Cruces, Sunland Park and other locations. The initiative was mentioned during a public meeting on gang violence this week in Anthony, N.M.
